Pair Solenoid Magnet
A pair solenoid magnet consists of two cylindrical coils arranged as a pair, used in a low energy beam transport section to suppress beam divergence and maintain focus. Because beams tend to spread more readily at low energy, the paired solenoid configuration preserves beam shape as it is delivered to the next acceleration stage. The bore diameter and inductance affect the rate of field formation and the focusing performance.
