Advanced accelerator magnet company, KR TECH presentation
Founded in 1995, KR TECH has operated as a total electromagnet solution provider in South Korea, working in the fields of synchrotrons, heavy ion accelerators, cancer therapy equipment, semiconductor wafer magnets, room temperature magnets, and superconducting magnets.
In the design stage, researchers with master’s and doctoral degrees analyze customer requirements and design optimized models. The company uses two analysis codes, ANSYS Maxwell and MERMAID (developed by the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Russia), to build prototypes based on 2D and 3D magnetic field interpretation, then refines the design to a high level of precision using its own inverter programs.
In the manufacturing stage, KR TECH operates a variety of winding machines to accommodate different coil types, with experienced technicians carrying out all steps of production. In the measurement stage, the company has a Hall probe mapping system, while a rotating coil measurement system is under development. All products undergo final testing using self-developed test instruments.
KR TECH installed magnets for the X-ray Free Electron Laser at Pohang Accelerator Laboratory, and has supplied magnets for the Rare Isotope Science Project (RAON). The company has also supplied magnets for cancer treatment equipment and cyclotrons to hospitals and customers worldwide.
